Michal Mazel, Attorney/Partner

    Graduated from the University of Masaryk, Brno, Law Faculty and Faculty of Philosophy. He began his legal career as a State Prosecutor trainee. He worked for 11 years as high government official in the area of defense policy at the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defense. From 2009 to 2010 he was the adviser to the Minister of Interior, from 2010 to 2011 he was a Member of the Government Legislative Council, he worked as a judicial expert in social science, from 2010 he acts as an attorney (Attorney). He specializes in public, real estate law and personality rights. He participated in the Pro Bono project within which he provided legal aid to the victims of crime and discrimination. He was involved in preparation of number of legislations in the field of criminal and administrative law. In the recent years he is also focused on the area of information and communication technologies, including cyber defense. He provides specialized legal aids in the field of law enforcement, construction postal service and water related law.

        Filip Směja, Attorney/Partner

        Graduated from the Law Faculty, University of Masaryk, Brno. He started his career at the Ministry of Interior, later he worked as the Head of Legal Department, Supervision Authority of Co-operative Banks, then he joined the renowned consulting company taking the post principal Attorney. Since 2004 he has acted as attorney with general practice and and provides comprehensive legal services in all areas of law. He is particularly focused on the field of private law and specialized on commercial law, including corporate law as well contract law and insolvency law. He has long-time experience in providing legal aid   to regional self-governing authorities, including, but not limited to public procurement and administration law. He also pleaded clients in several complicated cases at the Court and arbitral proceedings. He was also involved in preparation and implementation of several significant property transaction including legal audits and preparation of extensive contractual documentation. In the recent years he is also focused on the area of information and communication technologies, including cyber defence.

            Matěj Resl, Attorney

            He graduated from the Charles University Law Faculty, Prague. He also studied at the Law Faculty, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, München. In 2010 he joined the Bar where he has gained experience, among other things, due to pleading clients’ cases at the trial, preparing contractual documentation to various commercial transactions or by providing legal support to regional self-governing authorities. His other specialization includes real estate law, trademark and medical law. Currently he performs general law practice as attorney.

                Jan Potoček, Attorney

                He graduated from the Charles University Law Faculty in 2006. For six years he worked at the Supreme Audit Office where he was devoted to EU Funds, public procurement, financial audit and audit issues in the public administration. He also gave lectures about the same topics and gained extensive experience in the cooperation with EU boodles. Currently he performs general law practice.

                    Barbora Fialová, Attorney

                    She graduated from the Law Faculty, Charles University, Prague, in 2012. She acquired her experience during the internship at the Civil Department, District Court, Prague 7, and at the Law Office where she particularly dealt with public procurement, insolvency proceedings and administrative law. She is specialized in public procurement and state aid, IT and ICT law. Currently she performs general law practice as attorney.

                        Michaela Bauerová, Attorney

                        Graduated from the Law Faculty, University of Masaryk, Brno. During her legal practice at the state administration and non-profit sector she gained considerable experience in civil, labor and criminal law. She was a Task Force member of the Czech Government advisory board for Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. Since 2014 she has been involved in providing legal services in all branches of law and specialized in administrative and construction law as well in environmental law and protection of personality rights.

                            Lukáš Šimeček, Attorney

                            He has been working at Mazel & Směja law firm since his studies at the Charles University Faculty of Law in Prague, from which he graduated in 2014. During his studies he gained wide experience not only in advocacy, but also by taking internship at the civil departments of district and county courts, as well as Prague Public Prosecutors office. He specializes in dispute resolution, representation of individuals and corporations in criminal proceedings, including representation before the international judicial authorities, and in public procurement law.

                                Martin Dostál, Attorney

                                He graduated at the Faculty of Law of the Palacky University in Olomouc, in 2014 successfully passed State rigorous examination at the Faculty of Law of the Charles University in Prague. Within the legal practice he specializes in civil law, corporate law, criminal law and environmental law. In his professional life, he also deals with the issue of agricultural law, especially with the areas of viticulture and viniculture. He publishes in the specialist magazine Vinařský obzor.

                                    Jana Němcová, Articled Clerk

                                    Graduated from the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague. During her studies, she worked as a paralegal in several law offices. She also gained further experience during her internships at a state prosecutor’s office and at a court, where she dealt with both civil and criminal agenda. She spent two semesters at University of Sheffield, Great Britain, where she focused on criminal law and criminology. During her professional career, she worked as a judge assistant and as a lawyer in an NGO. She joined our team in 2018 as an Articled Clerk. Her current work agenda involves all sectors of law.

                                        Štěpán Vršťala, Articled Clerk

                                        Graduated from the Law Faculty, Charles University, Prague. During his study he worked as intern at the District Prosecutor’s Officeand at the non-profit organization providing legal aid to protect the public interest. He gained further experience by competing two semesters at the Law Faculty,University of Oslo. Since 2016 he has acted as an Articled Clerkand he provides legal services in all branches of law with and focused on civil,  criminal, administrative  and environmental law.

                                            Karolína Kovářová, Office Manager

                                            Graduated from Faculty of Economics and Management of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, in the past she was involved with the administration and the running of an office in a pharmaceutical company. She joined the Mazel&Směja law firm in 2019 and her job description also includes preparing of public procurement bids, marketing and office management duties. Her priority is to satisfy not only our clients but also
                                            our whole legal team.
